Knock on Wood
« on: May 19, 2011, 01:15:20 PM »

Just soooo happy! Don't know if I should jinx myself, but my business is going great.
I have done summers and springs before, but this is a record for me.
Many weekends I have 2 or 3 jobs! I think I have 7 gigs this month.
Finally, I am getting emails and calls. The Craigslist and other free services are paying off!

I hope all is well with all of you! Let this summer keep us rolling in dough and keep our talent
growing along with the weeds in my yard! Grin

That's great news. Cograts. As long as you keep doing great work the jobs will come rolling in.

Woo Hoo, Wina!  Yep, I think it just takes time and persistence and like rolling a snowball in the snow, just gets bigger and bigger.  Good to hear.   Smiley

that is great! I am pleased for you. I am into the beginning of my second year but it's a different picture here in the UK. People are a bit more cautious in spending money and I did do a few pay per face gigs last year and got really poor turn outs Sad I am aiming to get small private bookings this year through self marketing.

I listed on Craigslist and then on Thumbtack.
I filled out all the questions about my business to get a better "status."
Also, signed up on Twitter. I keep working on my website, changing photos
and graphics as the seasons change. And I keep posting here and a few other
face painting sites. I also sign on with other entertainment companies and free listings for entertainers.

Newbies, don't expect your business to bring a lot of jobs right away. But the more effort you put into
get your information on the internet. Be patient. Practice! Practice! Practice!

Tomorrow, all the calls could stop, but God is good! The money will be awesome, but don't invite me to any summer parties...I'm booked! Ok, not the whole summer is booked, but it's only May.
I'll save my social life for the dry spells! xoxoxox
