New Brands?
« on: July 28, 2011, 02:10:26 PM »

I have been on ebay and amazon recently and found two new brands of face makeup:
wow (from Israel) and Glam (airbrush makeup but also regular stuff too)
Glam advertises that they are FDA approved.

Anyone has any info on these brands? Just curious. Huh?

Just went to http://www.glamairbrushmakeup.com/
and saw that each cake was 1.4 oz,
that converts to 41 ml.
32 grams (standard fx cake) is equal to 1.08 oz.

So are these much bigger cakes? Curious!

Glam! cakes are $7.31

Might get one just to see how they are. Here's info from their website:

Hmmm... I always thought Snazaroo advertised that they are safe to use around the eyes.

I thought the same thing.
"they" also say not to use the neon colors on the face.
How many folks listen to that idea?

I have seen colored henna advertised on ebay and amazon.
Anyone tried that?

From what I recall nearly every brand has at least 1 colour 'not to use around the eyes'. Or mouth, in some cases.

And UV/neons are usually the main colours they say this about.

There has been a lot of discussion/ explanation but I think generally it was all expected to be OK and was down to legal paperwork or certain pigments or something.

As long as you are never daft enough to paint babies, most people know if they have reacted before so its an expected risk...

That's all Paradise makeup. The pots & packaging for all their sizes & cases are identical & the names of the colors are the same. Silver Bullet gave it away. And the $9 price is quite a bit more than I pay for.

It's not surprising - many brands which look similar are actually from the same or neighbouring factories - when I was in Hong Kong the people that make TAG/ DFX/ Wolfe/ VIPMUA were in talks to try & get me to front a 'new' brand marketed in Asia mainly but almost exactly the same product & in the same packaging. (I said no thanks, seemed a bit pointless).

TBH from what I could work out the main difference between those brands I mentioned is postage therefor price - its cheaper to get the brand marketed in your region as the brand gets sent straight to the supplier (who designed the stickers;)) of that brand it rather than being shipped 1/2 way round the world then back again ....
