My Crazy Summer
« on: August 24, 2011, 06:50:17 AM »

I haven't been on very many forums this summer. I worked like crazy as a summer camp leader for my church's kid's camp teaching art classes & playing dodge ball(ouch). Then on the weekends & evenings it was face painting. The hubby was unemployed, so it was they only way to make it. The great news is he is now a teacher at an elementary school & I can relax & start my homeschooling!!!!
I just wanted you to know why I'd been gone for so long....

Glad you are back!
Congrats on your hubby's job. My husband has been floundering in this economy
and is employed at a job he DESPISES! He gave them notice, cuz it's only getting worse.
Praying the good Lord sends a better position Tim's way!

Face painting jobs have been good for me as well. Since Tim may be unemployed soon,
I pray they keep coming at a regular clip!!!! Grin

I've been wondering about you... so glad to see you're back and that your hubby landed a job.  Yay!   Grin

I hope a good one comes Tim's way too Wina.  Him leaving may open the door to that.  Sometimes I think when you stick with something that's really bad, it gets even worse to kind of nudge you along.  Hoping so anyway.  Smiley

Thank you! My hubby has had a lousy last five years. I keep praying for him to find joy again.
I appreciate the prayers for everybody. Not lots of folks doing great financially.
But next to many many people, we are rich!

So true. We are a rich country compared to most. I've been in Africa 3 times & the poverty is so unbelievable! I always have to remember, I have a roof & it's not made of cardboard. I have food & it's not corn meal out of a dirty bowl. I have clothes that I wash regularly, not the same outfit day after day.

It'll get better! I know it will!

3 trips to Africa - you are called! My niece just came back from her second trip
to the Philipines. She was there for 9 months this time; 6 the last. She love it,
especially when she gets to work with the people. Gawud Kalinga helps the homeless
build and maintain communities and improve their self worth. I bet she goes back again.

My uncle was a priest in South Korea for most of his life. He is now buried there.
He was a great man. One of my cousin's daughter (who is a nurse) just returned from a week in Haiti.

God bless all of you who give of your time in other countries. I do all my volunteering here.
We need help too. But you never know where my life journey will take me!
