Braids and beading
« on: September 20, 2011, 06:52:23 PM »

Anyone offer braids with beads to their services?  Any tips?  It looks like I'll be doing that soon.  I had an event company ask me if I could do this for an event coming up in October.  I said I didn't, but they asked again this week and said it didn't have to be cornrows or complicated, just a few braids per person with beads added, so I thought why not.

We'll see how it goes.  I'm thinking I'll order a braiding and beads kit from Amazon and start practising on my family.

Ha... I don't know if they'd fit on his short hair.   Smiley  I think I'll practice on everyone though, because who knows what hair types may show up at my booth.  I've got my daughter, mom, sister, cousin and myself in mind.  We'll see how it goes.

I finished my hair braiding event and all seemed to go well.  Not my favorite thing to do, but work is work.

There was a henna artist there as well.  I was so envious. (painting type things are my true love)  Really, it made me think that I might be able to do henna.  I always worried that it'd be too tricky.  When I got home, I practiced a few henna designs with my face paint and I think I might be able to do it after all.  Something to think about.  When I read about it in the past with the cones and all, it seemed a bit complicated.  I saw that you don't have to use cones, but a squeeze tube.
