Taking appointments this Halloween?
« on: October 28, 2011, 07:34:57 AM »

Anyone taking any appointments this Halloween?  I'm getting more and more of these.  I had a Darth Maul request, Batgirl, the Joker and a Ghost.  I'm trying to figure out, how on earth to make a ghost look good.  I'm wondering what others are charging?  I've quoted $25 for my time, if they come out to my house.  I offered a discount of $20 each for a couple that are coming out together.

Last year, I had only one appointment...for a BUTTERFLY!

This year, I have the two Lady Gaga skeletons with bald cap - btwn $60-80 for 2
I bought more starblends to do his face.

Then a face of Avatar - $15 (easy and quick)
2 FAST vampires (friends) - $8 each
1-3 corpse bride wedding guests - $15 ea

Kids on Halloween - skull (school bud) $8 and witch (neighbor) free

I also did the wolfman last week at his Trump Tower condo. Polished black nails, applied hair and makeup on face, hands and chest, and bought teeth - I got $200, but it took me almost 2 hours plus I bought the polish, black lipstick (stays on better), hair, adhesive etc. Could have charged more, but I thought that was a ton on $$ for one person's body. But he didn't blink an eye.

May next year be even BETTER!

I had 2 last year.  I had 4 inquiries this year, but none ended up panning out.

These were the Lady Gaga Skeleton couple. The man wore a skull cap, so I used Tag white, Wolfe black and snaz white, grey and silver for the cap. On both of their faces, I only used starblends. They were amazing! The colors blended so well. It took less time, because you don't have to wait for paint to dry. I think that I will be using star blends a lot more in the future!

This mom and son couple were invited to the Corpse Bride themed wedding. On the son, I used the star blends and black wolfe for the linework. On the mom, I used tag white (powders show more wrinkles, I think) and tag metallic purple with the Wolfe black for the line work.

My last weekend appt was a Dia de los Muertos Skull. She originally wanted vampire faces, but her hubby bought a mask and she wanted something else. She brought a design that she wanted duplicated. Simple and she loved it!

Maybe next year, I skip booking parties and ONLY do aptmts. What will make more $$?

I use Starblend white a lot too, especially in the summer.  It's my favorite of the Starblends and I just had to buy 2 new cakes this week, I was running out!  Those skulls are creepy, especially with the neck added in.

I took a bunch of Halloween requests this year.
I painted a dad & daughter for a flash mob Thriller dance & some people just going out for a night on the town. I also painted a little tiger.

I LOVE the mouth on the dad. Your use of highlights make it soooo realistic!
You are amazing!
