charge the same for Birthdays/Grand Openings/Fairs?
« on: July 28, 2009, 01:30:16 AM »

Hello

I am new to the business part of this. I just wondered, do you charge the same for all activities?(Birthdays/Grand Openings/Promotions/churches)

On a another note: is it worth learning to do balloon twists?? I was thinking of adding this to my services.

Glitter tattoo: I had the problem of the glitter sticking to the brush any solutions??

thanks in advance!! This has helped me alot!!

I would most likely charge the same for Birthdays and grand openings.  The one fair I do, I pay to be there and then charge the customers in a pay per face fashion, so that's a bit different.  I charge a discounted rate when I work for the city, because their events are multiple hours and multiple days, so it's REALLY worth it to me, to work it, compared to a one hour birthday party.

I feel like adding balloon twisting to my offerings has really helped.  It's been a popular addition and you don't even have to be a super twister.  People are pleased with the simplest balloons... swords, puppies, silly hats.

I usually charge the same thing
for the same type of work - no matter where it is.
That keeps my life simpler.
And I think it's fair to the customers.

I think the baloons are a big help, even if they are basic ones. Do a few before your event starts, tie them around your booth, and listen to the kids from a mile away. The glitter tattoos are great too, they seem to appeal to the "I'm too old for facepainting" kids. Plus it's great too break up the painting sometimes.
