Best Place to Show Off Work?

Body painting is more interesting to me than face painting because of the larger canvas available. However it's not as easy to show off the work other than pictures. Any ideas where would be good?

I think body painters do a lot of photo shoots for advertisements for large companies. I think they also draw a crowd for companies at trade shows and whatnot. I know of some who did body painting for the dancers on Saturday Night Live, so it probably comes up for t.v. and film work? I'm really not too experienced in what is involved with body painting, so if anyone who more knowledgeable could add to this thread, that'd be great.

Yeah, I find that it's hard to show off any of the body paintings in live form. It's always picture form

We have a annual Valentines Day event in Orlando called nude night. They have live body painted models walking around, being painted and performing dance routines. Its awesome, they do it in tampa too.

Nude Nite is a dazzling art event celebrating the beauty of the nude.
Go to the website and watch the intro video, there may be things like this in your area.

I'm thinking about going to my local Harley dealer to see if they have any events that might command a body painter to bring in people.
Or use Model Mayhem and post onto your web page.

Hi,
I do a lot - ony been painting bodies for 2 years but its about 50% of my body/ face income now.
Very little of my bodypainting is for adverts; its nearly ALWAYS models to promote a new product launch at a PR event, or for entertainment/ staff at big balls, etc. The rest is mainly costumes for parties or big events like the HK Rugby 7s (the whole crowd dresses up so I get booked solid for bodypaint ).
Hardly anyone gets to bodypaint for adverts; and if they do its often boring stuff. Carmel getting to do the Air New Zealand videos was about as good as it gets.
A lot of the companies seem to think metallic gold is cutting edge which of course it is not. (zzzz but it pays well.
Anything interesting I get to do is likely to be unpaid or test work, where I am trying a new idea out that I can later sell to clients to use at an event or whatever. And the only other time you get to paint interesting stff/ what you want is at the comps/ festivals. Its unusual to get the time and space as well as a willing victim... but that all depends if you can afford the time etc off paid paint jobs to do them! I was lucky and got asked to Shaghai to paint for 10 days recently, that was cool and a good portfoilio boost.
The 1 thing I will say, is get PROFESSIONAL photos. I always originally had my work snapped by me, but when the pro photos came back got a huge response from the same clients. Same artwork just shot far better...
