Yay!  A Forum just for us Face-Painters!
I'm so glad I found this place.

I've been Face-Painting for about 5-years.  A Lot.
That's longer than getting a College Degree!
So you can be sure I've learned a lot already.

Yet there are so many Avenues.
So much more and more I want to do.
And now I'm glad to be here to follow some of those
idea-paths with You.

Hi, I'm Tom from North Dakota.  I've been face and body painting for about one and a half years, but I've been a fine artist for 14 years.  I'm glad to be part of a forum so that we may exchange ideas.  We can never stop learning....

Hi Tom ~

I guess that's how it is for most of us.           
Now that you wrote 'but I've been a fine artist for....', it got me           
wondering what else other people did before picking up Face-Painting.             

Me - I used to do a lot of portraits in pastel.  And en-plaine-aire paintings             
in oil.  I even picked up some color sticks and decided to just 'make a           
picture' last night - something that I like absolutely never do anymore.             
In fact, I never did it with color-sticks (I used to work with oils or colored             
pencils).  Just a litl thing on computer-paper.



What sort of fine Art do you like to do, Tom?

But back to the face-painting now.  I must go study dinosaurs - it         
was requested for a Party that I'll be doing this Sunday.  Any suggestions, anybody?

Very pretty, Alison!    I did a little bit of craft painting before I took up face painting and I took one class in oil painting.

You can't go wrong with T-rex, anything with lots of teeth and looks mean is cool w/my son!

Ah yes - T-Rex.  Yesterday was great fun. 

I love the journey.  Finding ourselves with our artwork.

What dino's did you use, how they come out? Pics?

I did a full-face T-Rex - Came out great, but I knew that it was taking longer than an individual person should.
It's just that I was getting into it - didn't want to skip anything.  And luckily it was on an 'older-kid', so he sat okay.

I was going to do one of those half-face thingys - that look like the mouth opens every time the person opens his mouth.  But I didn't get a chance - there were other requests during this party - obviously the guests didn't know that the hostess told me they'd be wanting dinosaurs.  Actually, a lot of Princesses.  And several people wanted the pretty eyes that I had painted on myself that morning.

I probably have photos somewhere, but I literally get Thousands of photos around here.  If they turn up soon, I'll still remember to post them here.  If not, well,

I did a full-face T-Rex.  In two shades of green.  With a pink tongue.  And pointy teeth.
