Beautiful Jewel-toned Wolfe Green
« on: September 13, 2009, 11:31:10 PM »

I love the Mehron turquoise.  But I stopped using it a long time ago - because it doesn't come off completely in one quick washing.  And I figure that most customers who have that experience
will not want to buy face-painting the next time.  They wouldn't know/trust that it's only the turquoise.

Today I used a lot of the Beautiful Jewel-toned Wolfe Green - a deep emerald shade.
it didn't come all off immediately.

hi,
Are you talking about the dark green 062? I got it because the metallix green was out of stock and I just love it. It stays longer than any of the other colours I use so I've gotten into the habit of sponging down a light layer of gold snazaroo under many of the designs and it helps the green to wipe right off without taking away from it's brilliant colour and ease of application.

Here's one where the gold is under some of the green and washed off easier in those places making it standard practice for me under the whole design.

Oh my goodness, Elle!  That's an excellent bit of knowledge you have.

I have no idea which number Green it is that I'd been using - looks like a dark
bluish green.  Really beautiful.

But now I want to try 'underpainting' all my strokes before using it.

In the beautiful picture you posted - are you just referring to the gold cheeks?
And that the rest of the green is just on the cheeks?

In that picture I just sponged a little gold on the cheeks but after washing it off her face realized I should sponge a little snaz gold under the entire design. It doesn't take away from the look in fact it adds a little flair, it only takes a second to sweep the sponge over the cheek, temple and forehead before using the more vibrant wolfe colours-which I love.

I tried it - Mehron turquoise sponged and brushed over Mehron yellow, thank you.
I think it worked.  But not 100%.

I usually just wash my face-paintings without paying any attention to it - just
washing the way I usually do.  And it's gone.  But this time, I was aware of
taking a few extra seconds (seems like a definite amount of tiiiiiiiiiiime when
you're doing it) a couple of times
before I was satisfied with the washing.

So it did work.  But it made me wonder if I wanted that stuff on myself.
So the turquoiseSSSS which I bought bfore I knew the problem with it -
they're still staying on the shelf.

If I ever get around to looking for the picture among the hundreds on my
camera, I'll show it here.
