Chick Fil A
« on: September 17, 2009, 08:03:24 PM »

Am I mistaken in thinking that at least 2 people here have on-going
placements (retail?) at Chick Fil A?  Mandi and Sherry?  Maybe more
of us?

Is this different than a regular gig in which we're paid by the hour?
Is this something that we might get at different Chick Fil A's
around the country?

Yes, I have a regular Chick Fil A that I face paint at.  Chick Fil A's do a lot for their Kid's Nights, face painting, clowns, magicians and bounce houses are a few that I've seen them offer.

Our local Chick Fil A in grand ole Mt Dora is owned by a very nice couple that the wife half of visited me at the salon I was working at to get regular pedicures. I talked my way into being one of the four children's entertainers they host every saturday from 1-3. I am Mrs. 4th Saturday of the month, they have a magician, balloon twister, and book reader the other weekends. They also have things going on on Tuesday nights that I currently haven't been invited to, there is a facepainting clown that does it every other Tues. and some random entertainer usually does the in between.

Honestly, I charge $75 an hour, but in order to book this gig I had to go to $75 for two hours, but I clarified that I could market myself while there and accept tips to cover some of the lost income. I have been doing it for about 6 months so far, and sometimes its busy and sometimes not, but I feel that the people that are regular Chick Fil A customers are my target audience, as opposed to some other cheaper restaurants I have tried to set up at.

Lol - I thought it might be a good idea for me to see what sort of an arrangement I could work out - for a weekday.  But there are no Chik-Fil-A's around here.

Other restaurants?  Do you know who else has 'regular entertainment features' that attract customers?

I was contacted by a Dairy Queen that I had sent a letter to.  I've seen a bunch of bar and grills around here advertising face painting or magic performing clowns.  Lets see, I know of one artist who works at Perkins restaurants... I know of face painting being offered at a buffet and I've heard from a child I painted at a Chick Fil A, that Moe's used to offer it on kids night.  The possibilities are endless!   Grin
