Hi! I'm Anne and I have painted in and taught watercolor for over 25 years, having my first experience with face-painting "way back when", as our art group painted clown faces for a local charity event using theatrical "grease paint" ~ ugh!

~ Having been totally turned off by "face paint", I began doing small designs on cheeks (as a time-filler when set up with paintings at art fairs) using ~ horrors! ~ acrylic paint (a no-no, I know!!). I hadn't painted on faces in several years until this past summer, when I decided I would give it a try again ~ using actual face paint this time ~ which I happily found now to be water-based and pleasant to use!
My first event was a hot-air balloon festival a couple of hours away, and I was amazed to find that I was swamped with little faces for 3 days! Tiring, but wonderful! I felt like I had found my "niche"! I also go with my husband's family to Civil War reenactments (they have a Civil War "sutlery" ~ like a traveling store~ my husband makes reenactor's uniforms, tents, etc.) ~ just did one this past weekend ~ I did pretty well; not as lucrative as a festival, but not bad as I don't have to pay an extra fee (I'm set up with the sutlery) and I have the "guys" ~ husband and sons ~ there to put up and take down the tent, so I can't complain!
