Good start up kit?
« on: June 23, 2009, 03:37:34 PM »

I have wanted to try some airbrush work, but I'm afraid of the start up cost. Anyone know of a good start up kit, maybe with training videos or something?

I wish I knew about airbrush, but maybe something in the future.  I think I've saved some info on airbrush, so I'll look around and see it I can find it.

Here's some advice I've found:  Check out www.airbrushbodyart.com.  Spectrum 2000 is not recommended because of problems reported. I think Silly Farm also sells airbrush start up kits.

Thanks, that was a good site, it might be something I'll try in the future though. It's a little high for me to try and not like. It looks like you can do a lot with air though!

Yeah, when I see the things they do with airbrush, I feel like some of the people who are watching me face paint when out doing an event.  Sometimes they act so amazed... that's how I feel when I see airbrush artists... the ones who don't use stencils, but do t-shirts and freehand designs... Wow!  Just beautiful!  I think that would be fun to learn some day.

Hi, I got my startup kit from TCPGlobal ( stencils, compressor and paints) I purchased it on ebay but I think its cheaper on their website.

Have you done it before, or is this your first try at it? I was wondering how hard it is. I would imagine it wouldn't be too bad with stencils, but Iv'e said that before about other things and been off base there too.

No stencils would be really cool to see, but it must take so much practice to be able to do it fast. How much are the air brushes?
