Do all face painters need a business license?

Hi Can you tell me how to get a business license?
Do all facepainters need one to advertise?
after working birthdays for over a year and half
I want to go further but I would have to be
licensed and insured ..correct?

I'm insured and it's required by some venues.  Fairs for me, but if you don't do fairs, then it's debatable whether you need insurance or not.  I got my business license by calling the city I live in.

I have insurance too.  The license depends on where you live.  For me, it is the County that requires the license.
