'Newby' from Australia
« on: October 25, 2009, 05:26:52 AM »

Hi I consider myself a novice in the face painting world  Smiley Ive done my eldest daughters school fete with a fellow novice for 3 years running and 'lurved' it ... actually felt a little guilty for getting such a kick out of it - it was my way to ease the guilt of not being able to actively help around the school too much more (due to a younger child) plus Ive voluntered at my smallest persons kindy for fun days.  The thing is now Ive been asked to do a corporate event, with a christmas theme, and was hoping for some advice on some quick and easy designs.  I need to get through 60 short people in about 2 hours (fortunately I have another kindy mum with me - also a newbie) - they have asked for 6 options ..... Im thinking about snowflakes (which is ironic as we live in Australia, where are summers are HOT) plus snowmen (kids love them) and am thinking about presents and reindeer any other suggestions?
Im loving this site - everyone seems super friendly
Cheers, Fi

One idea I have to be quick, maybe a quick crown with Christmas colors.  Make a small split cake with green and red and then you can swipe across it and make a crown across the forehead.  Add a few swirls.

I think the snowman is a great idea for a quick design.  Maybe a santa hat and beard.  Angel wings with a halo.  Holly, candy canes, bells.

Welcome to the board!   Grin

Christmas lights, poinsettas and stockings with their names are also two more ideas. But if you have to get thru 60 kids, less on the details. Practice to get your speed up. The more you do an image, the less you have to think about where to place everything.

I love the candy canes!  I think we'll have to do a Christmas theme for our next contest.  Smiley
