Thanks, Ann. Hello.
I see that you use a lot of 'split-cakes'. Can I ask how you carry them around? Do you transfer them to a 'main case'? Or do you just open the original individual containers when you get to an event?

Beautiful stuff! Is that your hubby in some of your work? I never asked mine. Don't think that he would say yes. Keep up the wonderful work.

allison...i don't have a "laptop" kit that holds all of my individual cakes...i do open up the individual cakes when i go to an event, just a personal preference thing...when i clean up i have a box that holds all the individual cakes...maybe i can break out of that habit, but the kits i've seen don't seen to have a visual appeal to me..i'm a tad weird i know...
sophie...yeah i do have a hubby/model showing off some of my work...i threaten him with the absence of cooked food if he refuses (he doesn't cook, hee-hee!)

Doesn't set-up and clean up take real long if you're using individual cakes?
And most of all, don't they fall off the table?

i've never really had an problem of the cakes falling off the table...i do line them up so i can easily reach for what i want/need
as for the time it takes to set up...hmmm, it hasn't really been an issue, i get to most bookings at least 30 minutes before the event starts, and i really haven't had an issue of being too pooped to clean up when the event ends...maybe now that you've mentioned it i will keep an eye out for a kit that suits my fancy and see if having it will get me out of this mode or not...hee,hee!

I'm like you Ann. I have many cakes. I also have 3 palettes, but with all my little cakes and shimmer powders, set up can take a while. I like to get to my gigs at least 30 minutes early.

One time bfore I even thought of getting involved in Face-Painting, I was drawing Caricatures at a Special Party with the Baseball Players at Yankee Stadium for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. I remember looking over at the Face-Painter who was quite in demand, and thinking - "how easy her job looks" (I didn't even know how good Face-Painting could get). Even so, I was right to think that Face-Painting is sooo much easier than Caricatures, but I never made the job as easy as hers - I figure it's just a matter of personality.
The Face-Painter at that gig - Now, get this - I'm amazed. Cute little girl - She showed up at the last minute, opened up a small old-fashioned LUNCHBOX! of supplies, and started painting litl doodads on the cheeks - a heart, a flower.....

I always thought I would like to learn how to do Caricatures. What makes caricatures difficult compared to face painting?
