Fair Pictures

I survived my fair and thought I'd post a few pics.  I was super busy at this one and on the last day, I couldn't believe I was starting to hope people would walk on buy and decide not to buy... crazy huh.  Smiley

It was an 11 day fair, so I was ready for a break.

Great pics!  I'm wondering what inspires you to
sometimes go AROUND the eyelid, and sometimes
paint right ON the eyelid.

I've had that experience of not wanting to do anymore.
When I start a day too extremely early (like be there 7 a.m.),
and the crowds don't really start until 3 pm,
by the time it really starts a-happenin at 4 pm,
and ...............

I laughed out loud when I saw the cow, how cute is that!!

I think Alison when I decide to paint on eyes of not, depends on how much the kid squinches when I start putting color on them.

Good job Sherry, they are all so cute, love the ladybug too!!

Some younger kids just won't close their eyes.  They'll make like they're closing their eyes, but when you go to apply, they look at you, so I go around in that case.  Also the squinching is a factor.  Some kids, when you tell them to close their eyes, they squeeze so tight and nothing you say will make them relax.   Cheesy

i sometimes hum...or sing a nursery rhyme while painting the younger kids faces to help them relax, works for some...the around the eye thing, hmmm, to me it depends not only on the squinting factor, but also how big the child's face is...

I hope I remember to do that - to make a neat circle around the eye when the child doesn't 'work right'.
I had been trying to showing them - "No - look at me" - Then I'd close my eyes gently and say "Like you're just goooooing to sleeeeep"  Lol - maybe I hypnotize them into relaxation.

But anyway, I had been figuring that some of my paintings come out better than others - All sorts of issues including this one.  So I'm glad to know this method of keeping it neat.

I can imagine, Ann - Things are different when you go to do them than when you're thinking of doing them.  I can imagine - perhaps some kids barely have room for a brushstroke of a 'mask' if you make big circles around the eyes.  Constant experiences.  That's what makes us Professional.
