i just decided that I don't like my Butterfly Insides. I'm sure they're not All like this, but apparently I've gotten into a rut - It's not unusual for this to come out of me these days. All sorts of different types of outsides, but the insides are frequently like this. Any better ideas for the insides, anybody?

I seem to have such trouble with butterflies. Getting the symmetry was my first problem. I seem to do all my butterflies exactly the same... I change the colors, but that's about it. It seems when I try something new, I'm just not liking it, so I keep it the same simple design. I want to take a butterfly class! Here's one other that I offer that I learned through Anna Clash the clown's videos on Youtube.

Are the stars on the last one airbrush or stencil? If its a regular stencil do you just tap at it with a sponge?

THANK YOU LADIES ! These are beautiful.
I love to do butterflies (but I get tired of them after a while - they're sooo popular) You can do Anything you want on each side of the face. Big or Small. Angular or curvy. Anything.
I wasn't liking my insides, but I see some ideas here already. I was surprised with the very confident on with the point and the wide solid antennae - looks great. As well as the little ones - that's lovely. Lol - I just had an idea - The 'buggy part on the inside' can be tiny OR REAL BIG. Could you imagine the shock on the child's face (or parent's face) if we surprised them with a Butterfly that had tiny/simple wings AND A BIG BLACK LEGGY THING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FACE??? Hahaha. Oh - it's midnight. I think I'm getting punchy.

I love it! And here I came back to our forum today after thinking I found such an excellent answer from another painter at my job yesterday. Yesterday I was impressed to see a row of 4 or 5 litl dots as head/body - decreasing in size as it went down about one inch along the nose. It was lovely and simple. But now I'm so wowed by this more advanced hairy-body.
Just goes to show you - that there are many answers that work - that we don't have to be the same as some excellent artist that we know in order to be excellent ourselves.
