Jaguars face?
« on: November 19, 2009, 07:00:51 AM »

I have a possible event coming up in December and I need to do Jaguars designs for a theme around the Jaguars football team.

I was working on a Jaguars face last night, by looking at actual Jaguars images.  Here's what I came up with:

Any tips or ideas for a better Jaguar face?  Does anyone else have a Jaguar face to share?

Thanks Kim.  Smiley

Hey Tee,

I thought about trying it in the blue/teal Jaguar colors to begin with, so maybe I will try it.  If I can bribe my son into modeling for me again!   Cheesy

I can do a gator, but do I REALLY want to?  Can you tell I'm not a big Gator fan?  Grin  I've done cheek art Gators for Gator fans.

Can I ask what you bribe your son with?  And how old is he?
My 3.5 year old refuses to let me paint her.  She hates he clean up after.

I keep getting "tomorrow mommy!"
But, you said that yesterday...sooooooooo, today is tomorrow.
She just runs away.

My son is 4, almost 5 and if there's something he really wants, I can bargain with him.  Let me do your face and then you or we can do this.  He'll try to get me to do what he wants first, but that doesn't work.  I have to make him let me do the face paint first, so if he gets fidgety, I've always got that bargaining chip. For example, "O.k. hold still and mommy will let you face paint me when we're done."

My daughter who just turned 3 isn't as good at it.  You might have to wait until yours is just a little bit older.

Nice Jaguar.
Another idea might be to play around with the patterns of dots.
Maybe sometimes all converging towards center of face,
another time only doing them in the center of face -
that sort of thing.

I think I would try to come up with variations based on the one face.
That way you can paint everyone as Jaguars without painting the exact same thing all day.
Changing the colors (already mentioned) was also a good idea.

Isn't it funny that kids whose parents won't buy them anything
want want want to get a face painting - their tongues hanging
out while we can see their hearts yearning for the excitement.
But kids who can get it all the time - they can't be bothered - they say NO.

I had a similar problem when I wanted to do serious Portraits.
I'd take a kid
who was just sitting perfectly still watching tv,
let'm watch whatever he wants,
and I'd set up to paint.
Then the kid acted like he was being tortured to sit there.
