There is nothing wrong in volunteering for a charity or non-profit group you support... but when a BUSINESS asks to you volunteer to increase THEIR business, that is a bit outside of acceptable.

yes - there's nothing wrong with volunteering for a charity group.
BUT if you don't acknowledge the true amount of your contribution when you are volunteering to do a job, then you don't really believe that you're worth the prices you charge.

 If I work 2 hours (and usually these charity things somehow want us to be there ALL day - not just a limited number of hours that many people book when they know they have to pay for it), but anyway, if I work 2 hours at $100 per hour, that's a $200 donation.  If I work 4-hours, that's a $400 donation.  Ask yourself if you are the type of person who actually donates these amounts of money if it was cash out of your wallet.  If you're more likely to think you're charitable if you take a $10 bill out of your pocket (or even a $1 bill that I've seen many people do), and if you Never actually donate hundreds of dollars to a cause, then you're acting as though your work is not worth the prices you charge.  Because you never would have handed over that amount of money if you weren't available to go there and give our your 'free' work.
