Thinking about face painting tonight and this just popped into my head and I wondered if you get certain questions repeatedly. What are your most asked questions while out face painting? Mine are: 1. (referring to my painted face) Did you paint that yourself? and 2. Is it hard to paint yourself? lol I find it cute and funny when they ask me these two questions and yeah, I do find it harder to paint myself.

haha.....I always get asked that too. It is absolutly adorable. I get asked: 1) where did you learn to do face painting? 2) are you an artist or something? One of my favourites.....do you think my mom will let me sleep with my face painted so I can keep it for school this week?

I love: "where did you find all this stuff?" And the classic........
"how did you paint that on your face?"

"Does it come off?"
Sometimes I answer, "Nope!" Then watch their faces, haha - THEN tell them that yes, of course it comes off. (Sometimes with adults who jokingly say, "so this is permanent, right?" I'll answer "Yes! But if you want it off, I'll pull out the sandpaper" or something like that.) Also, "Can you come to my birthday?" (Sure! Just ask your parents - over and over and over...)

Ah, yes. I forgot about the "Are you an artist?" question. Kids ask that a lot as if they're in awe. Parents normally ask if I do any artwork besides face painting.

Yeah I get the whole "How did you do that yourself" I usually answer "With a Mirror". My favorite question after that is, "How did you do it backwards then?" Since most of my designs are just swirls and things, they don't matter at all?!?! Whats up with people. I always tell kids that it won't come off when they ask. I like the look they give me.
"How do I take it off later?"
I smile and say "Turpentine"
people kill me sometimes with their idiocy.

" Not bad. Why don't you do it for a job?" To me sat there with my logo'd fairy outfit with matching pop up posters, pro make-up chair, banner, car, business cards.......

Oh yeah - That one is really funny, Wild. And I've been doing this for so many years - yet so often I'll get people who are all excited with this 'New Idea'. So they're telling me stuff like how I might 'take it to the streets'.
Last weekend, I was working a party (paid by the hour) when an excited guest told me that she sells jewelry at parties and wouldn't it be a great idea if I set up at one of her parties. I gave her my card. But I somehow don't think she intended to pay me by the hour. (Did she think I was working last weekend's party for free?) I'm not sure what she had in mind - but it's like they think I just got this idea to develop a whole new industry that doesn't exist yet or something

I've noticed this a lot since starting my business and mostly after I started getting a lot of bookings. For me, it mostly comes from my extended family members. When I was scrounging for work in the beginning, no one said much. I think they secretly thought it was a crazy idea that wouldn't work. I really didn't know if it would work either! Now some come up to me with all kinds of ideas of what I could be doing or where I can get work with my face painting. It feels sort of like when you have a new baby and everyone wants to tell you how to take care of it, even if you're a third time mother! Now that I think about it, it's not just my family. I also have complete strangers give me advice on it. I think they get all excited about this face painting thing, their mind starts working on other ideas for it and they want to share it. Or, it's an organizer of another event and they want me to set up at their event for free or with a paid fee.
