Left side of the face

I was practicing face painting with a new artist the other day and we were talking about how it's trickier to do the left side of the face. I sit down to face paint, so many times when I paint the left side of the face, I'll stand up and get in a better position to finish up. Once in a blue moon, I'll just use my left hand to do that side. I know some people have the model turn their head and go from there.
How do you handle painting on the side of the face where your weaker hand is?

Use your left hand? Wow, Sherry ~
I have them turn when necessary.
I'm glad you finally clarified for me how/why I like one side of the face better than the other.
Before this post of yours, I could never remember which side I prefer. So when painting a half-face, since I hadn't been understanding that I prefer to paint directly in front of my right hand, I would start painting on whichever cheek they offer. And only after starting, I'd wish I had asked for the other side.
It seems like they always offer the 'wrong' side first?

I am left handed! And if you ever notice in my pictures of face painting, when I have painted my own self, it will always be on the left side. I guess it's that way because of where I prop my mirror up at home. When I look into the mirror to paint, I turn my head to the right with out even thinking about it! Hmmmm this is the first time I have thought about it! But when I face paint at a gig, and I have them face me, if I'm sitting diwn, ahh I have them turn there head to the left, so I would be painting on the right side , if it is just eye art! If it is full face I just ask them to turn, or you know the hand on the head trick! Your hand will turn their heads in the direction YOU WANT! Interesting subject!

Hi Regina ~ Now we know why.
I'm looking at your beautiful Avatar - and Yes, it's the Left side of Your face (in front of my right hand). Eureka!

I often walk round behind them and get them to tip back so i can do it from behind - for some reason i paint that side better from there!
But if its a tall adult in my tall chair I have to do my best from the front, trying to ID points to hit to match them up...
