I was catching up on some older post when I ran across Alison's post under the time off header, she was talking about things she does when not in FP mode, and mentioned Joe and the Volcano as her favorite movie. I was wondering what everyone else's is? I have too many to name, but some of the all time are: Saving Privite Ryan, Forrest Gump, Ground Hog Day, Taken, the list could go on and on.

Oo, I love Ground Hog Day!  One of my fav's.   Grin

I also love Urban Cowboy, Coal Miner's Daughter, Grease and The Breakfast Club.  My old time fav's.

Some of my favorite comedies are There's Something About Mary and Overboard.

I really liked a recent movie I saw... The Proposal.  Now I just need to see Avatar.  My sister loves it and has already seen it 3 times.  It must be pretty good.   Smiley

Oh yes - Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing.  Wow ~

I recently saw Beowulf - that was amazing.
And ever see ExistenZ ?  I can really recommend that.
Movies are way up there on my list of things to do when I have time (like Every Morning with Breakfast)

Life is great for Face-Painters.  If we know how to live it.

I agree about reading vs the movies, I get more out of books, but I do love the visuals of the movies. LOTR IS my favorite series, started me reading.

I wish I knew all the movies that had 'official' face-painting.
Like, Avatar - that one sure comes to mind just now.

What others can you think of?

I'm noticing face painting more and more in the media.  Advertising, movies, etc.

Oh yeah - And what do you think about the painting/decorations that we can see in this year's Olympics?

Aah Alison, don't think I'm not a Patriot or send me out back to be shot, but I don't watch the Olympics.  In fact, I don't LIKE watching the Olympics.  I've seen tidbits here and there in the media.  I caught a clip of the ice skaters who dressed up in Aborigine style with a bit of face paint and heard there was controversy there.

My husband watches the Olympics religiously and Tivo's hours of it.  We're living seperate households right now until he can relocate, so thankfully I've been spared hours upon hours of the Olympics this year.

Hopefully he'll chime in when he has a chance to get online.   Smiley

Sorry Sherry ~  I know what it is to want a break from husband's STUFF.  They seem to have so much of it.
I run from talk-shows - radio, tv, anything.  Mine will always have Someone talking to him, some Opinionated person rattling on and on.  And don't let me get started on

Pigeons.  I'm not kidding.  People see my husband, say "How's the babies?", and he's happily into his topic about how many Eggs have hatched.

At least I do like the peaceful visits to the pigeon coop.  But I'll usually plug into my own movies with headphones at the computer to drown out his 'pundits'.  Because of this thread, I recently rewatched
JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO!  I feel so inspired.  So confident.

Everybody doesn't have to do/watch/careabout everything.  The Face-Painting at the Olympics hasn't been as professional as this Forum here.  But I'm just glad to see it being Accepted, Honored.  In the Limelight.

OMG the scene is the cabin well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And my second fav is Ghost!  Oh the potters wheel! That is my next dream, to work on a potters wheel! Well I think you guessed it, Patrick, I love him, the man CAN move, any way any how!  I was so sad when he passed away. My heart was full of sorrow for his wife!  And my other fav movies are..... anything with Elvis Presley in it! That man was the most beautiful man, a real HUNKA HUNKA BURNIN LOVE!

Patrick Swayze and Elvis Presley - Yes, Regina.  We both have the same taste.   (and True Lies was great too - funny how she transforms that dress)
