Good morning painting people!!
« on: February 13, 2010, 05:05:34 AM »

Hi all, I have been directed to your site by a FACE area rep(Lily), and I am most grateful!!!.  Am in the process of moving from amatur to proffessional painter, and really need to polish up my skills and brush work, and here seems to be the place to be.  There is not much chance of me meeting up with other painters where I am, so hopfully I will be able to pick up tips and instructions from you guys!!!  Look forward to chatting,

JelliNelli

Nice JelliNelli!  Feel free to jump right in with your thoughts, questions, experiences, etc.  The more we join in and talk to each other, the more we all learn.  Smiley

Where are you located and how did you get started with face painting?

Welcome!   Grin

Im in Cumbria, UK.  Always been arty but never really knew what to do with it, then I had children!!!.  That was 7 yrs ago and slowly slowly Ive found my feet in the painting world.  Having painted at many kids parties I found confidence to try local fetes, and was well received.  Last year I branched out and tried a few agricultural shows and done very well, each time my confidence and feedback growing more possitive.  At the start of this year I registered JelliNelli as a business, and am busy booking my show spots for the rest of the year!!.  Its going very well, but I just never feel that Im "good enough" as Im self taught.  any instructuonal dvds that anyone can recomend would be great!!!

Welcome JelliNelli!! I know the feeling about not think I'm good enough, but don't let that slow you down!! Everytime you think that just go back to the last face you did and the look on the little kids face when you showed them their face in the mirror!! Good luck, and keep in touch!

Hi JelliNelli! Welcome to the forum!  My name is Gina, and I live in Michigan. I also am new to face painting. I started in late July of 2009! I am so in love with the art! Here you will find the greatest group of artists, so much talent is seen on this site! If you have a question? Before you know it you will see an answer! Or several answers! This is the best place to share your talent, your knowledge, and your thoughts. Everyone is so willing to share. Al we want to do is PAINT THE WORLD IN COLOR! Here is one of my first pictures that I painted on myself! I paint on my self ALL the time! I think is is my permanent makeup now! Enjoy your self here on the forum and welcome again!

I get the urge to paint myself up a lot too Gina, but then there's always someone stopping over.   Tongue

Do you make a mad dash to the bathroom to wash up when that happens?
