Today was the first for a few new paintings, this morning I did jewelry! And tonight I practiced on bugs with shadows, this was the first time to try them, didn't turn out to bad!

I think It's the shadows that make the biggest impact on 3-D-ing the bugs here.
I looked closely, and the pics look simple enuf.  I imagine though, that if you don't do the shadows with enough finesse, it would make the arm look dirty.

Well done Regina

Me too!  That fly is soooo creepy.

My first year face painting and one of my first corporate gigs was for a company called MosquitoNix.  They wanted me to paint at the stadium for a baseball game.  I was so excited to get my first corporate event.  Excited until they informed me of what they wanted me to paint.  Bugs!  Nothing but bugs.  I was so crushed.  These would have been perfect!   Grin

Quite realistic! Did you use references or did you do it just off the top of your head?
You can tell that you have been painting for many years. Kudos!

Thank you! No just from memory! I really hate bugs! My son in law is a termanex bug man! I thought I should make him a photo album of bugs for christmas! He would crack up! He too hates bugs! But it's a job.

Best you should paint them right onto your son-in-law.
Then he could freak people out when he shows up for a job
