Happy St Patties Day everyone! Have a great day and evening painting all the GREEN shamrocks!  If you have a gig, may your tip jar run over with GREEN money!  I will be painting at a local pub from 1 pm to 12 pm!  I am guessing I will HATE GREEN by the end of the night! Good luck to all!

I'm so jealous Gina, because I didn't get a St. Patty's Day gig this year.  I think St. Patty's Day and Fourth of July are my very favorite themed gigs.  Good Luck and may your tip jar runneth over!

Oh my event at the Irish Pub was so very slow!  And there was lots of kids there! I stood for about 45 minutes when I got there! The place was packed, everyone in green, and eating corn beef and cabbage! I finally got three girls that wanted to be painted! Than 15 minutes went by and I got a little boy! And then one hour went by and I got five more kids! I never did get any adults to have the fun of face painting, I talked until I couldn't talk any more! Couldn't get any adults to get in color! Ahhh maybe next year I will have to search for an other place to do shamrocks! I ended up making 60 in tips, I went home two hours early! Live and learn I guess!

I'm sorry to hear this.  You just never can tell about these things.  I wish I knew what caused at some events to have a line out the door and at others you just can't talk people into getting a face painting. 

What did you charge per face?  Or were you just working for tips?

This is making me rethink whether night club face painting is such a good idea.

Thank you Alison, you are so sweet! I couldn't convince not even one adult to get painted! And I went all painted up, face! and right arm! ahh maybe next year!

Well I did go to the st patties day Irish Pub all painted up! Did my face and did my arm! Well anyways I got a couple good pictures out of it! I took my camera with me to get some pics but it was so dark in the pub they didn't come out well! But heres me!

Knowing your amazing work, I knew it couldn't be the face painting quality that was keeping them from buying.  And sure enough, the designs are NICE.

And the funny thing of st patties day, painting at the pub! No one wanted a shamrock! The faces I did do, was a couple full faces of tigers, and ahhhhhhhhhh a few eye designs! Go figure, So I don't know, all the planning and pratice that we do for special holidays, they just seem to want the same old thing! But the minute we DID do a st patties party, and if we didn't practice and prepare for the holiday, thats when EVERYONE would want a shamrock painted! Thank goodness for my green split cake that I had made that day! So if asked! I was ready, swipe, swipe and done! three heart shapes all touching at their bottom point and done! yee haa art is great! Well on the brighter side of it, I have a couple of full green tone split cakes in stock! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!

That's what I've found as well, that they usually don't even pick the themed design.  Knowing that, I now just bring along my regular designs and then throw in a few extra for the theme.

wow, regina, i love your work...your brain must be on overload to come up with all those ideas....my just comes to a screeching hault when it's time to paint! not sure why?
