i always say that honesty is the best policy...she did you a favor by asking you to help her out and you did...and she also helped you ....so i would say that you are even....I would just gently tell her that "yes, I would love to" and then let her know what your rate per hr. is going to be. Tell her that you aren't financially able to do this for a reduced rate anymore.

Maybe in this case you just need to give her a flat fee, something that you are comfortable with instead of attaching an hourly rate to it...sometimes, i think that the words "hourly rate" scare people off...it's alot easer to swallow. When they start adding it in their heads about how many hours they want you for and it comes out to about $400.00 or whatever, it scares them.....when i worked that open house last weekend, i only charged $100.00. I knew that they would not pay me $400.00 for a few hrs. work....the open house was washed out and very few people attended..but at least I got my money and no, i didn't make the amount I wanted to, but at least i got my name out there and made 'some' money.....better than nothing!

i sure hope that everyone can manage to read through and understand all the gramatical errors and mispellings when I type . Sorry, but sometimes i forget to go back and proof what I write and when i find it later, i realize how dumb I am . I read that reply sherry and brother, it's messed up! With the influx of immigration around here,
Everything is alright.  There are whole communities that speak 'wrong'.
Seems like there isn't a 'right' any more - just a communicate.
