Here goes nothing

Hey guys...
Well, I tried my best...Meet "Viola" the head....i practiced on her last night. My husband has way too much hair on his face! Anyway, feel free to critique my work and any suggestions would be appreciated....

Wish there were some kids around here to practice on....You guys with young skin have it made because when I try to paint my face, all my skin does is slide around!...making big wrinkle lines!

I also have a problem with staining on Viola.... everytime I remove the paint, her eyes come off as well!...so I have to paint them back on!...Help, she is really looking bad these days and doesn't like me using comet to clean her face!...Hellllp!

You are good Mollie... and on a mannequin head at that!  I find them harder to paint on, because of how the brush slides around.

Thanks for sharing.   Smiley

those look great!

My only suggestion would be to have more thick to thin lines in your tear drops - you'd be surprised how much this alone will improve your paintings.

BUT coming from someone who has a practice head and practice matts - tear drops dont work very well on them for some reason.... the brush seems to drag against the rubber making funky tails on my tear drops.
I made a video review on it... will have to post it one day

Something to suggest. Less is more. Sometimes I overkill on the amount of teardrops and curly qs I make. I often visit other artist's websites. I keep the ones I like in a file. What I have found is the ones that I like the best have fewer "items" than my own stuff. Also practice certain designs over and over. Learn to know exactly where each stroke goes and how many you use. The more prepared we all are, the quicker we can finish the face.
