This was a pretty cramped area to paint, It was at a bowling alley, and they gave me only a 2 foot by 2 foot table! Cramped but I made it work!   You have to make it work for you! I am left handed, so it would be hard for a righty to pick up in my spot and paint, the same as it would be hard for me to paint in there spot. do you stand? or set to paint? In my paint kit, I arrange the colors by what I use the most closest to me, I try to keep every thing within my reach

Here in NE Ohio we have formed a small association of face painters and at last months jam, the topic was our set ups.  Very beneficial.  Myself, I am the minimalist as I can mix colors as I go and get a split cake result with a broader brush, that sort of thing.  They ranged from cutesy to innovative.  Ine gal glued sheet metal in her cases, both top and bottomand glued a piece of magnet to the bottom of each of her colors so that they filled the case, both top and bottom and because they stuck there, there was no fallout.  Someone else had enough brushes for each color for each face and yet others brought cases and cases of stuff!  We took a poll about who sits, who stands or both.  It was a very informative time.
One's set-up becomes a very personal and necessary thing.

i usually sit when i work...i have about as much stuff as most of you guys...i have taken all of my paints out of the case as i found a really cute box at a junk store that holds all my paint plus my aprons and table cover...works great..thought i wuld save the case in case(lol) i bought more paint to hold it....
i was just trying to decide how to do my poster...i don't want to plaster it with pics...i don't think it's necessary. Kids are pretty visual too so not sure if I should make a list and post it as well, instead of painting my arm with a million things and then trying to post them...duh. why does this have to be so difficult? probably just me.... Huh?

awe thanks! - my layout is on my site under FAQ ... sparklingfaces.net

But when I do videos I just pull out the colors I need and take them to my desk.

I actually try to set-up the same each time so my hands know where to go even if my eyes are busy

MsMollie,  One little tip I can tell you about the table set up getting so very messy is..... the first few gigs I did! OMG! was like a tornado hit at the end!  I had to MAKE myself, put back a color after use where it belonged! so when I sat up, every thing has it's place, so I can just grab it almost without looking! After using it, I have to put it right back in it's spot right then and there!  I tend to put the things I use most often in the front, at easy reach, like for my paints, I would have black, white etc. in the very front, and all the way to the back of my kit, I would have brown, gray paint and etc.  glitters right up in the front, beside the first row of paints, and so forth, I think all in all the key to neatness is to put the item back right away, then you will get used to it!

I don't have anything current of my setup, but here was our setup at a festival last year.  2 artists at this table.  Here's the link:    http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss289/FunFaces2009/Jax%20World%20of%20Nations%20Festival/?action=view&current=100_0274.jpg

Very nice and organized table Sherry! And I loved the mirror detailing with the hubby! If mine is in site I give him a job! HAHAHAHAHA  I did a three day face painting Family fest in September of last Year, I was in a big top tent, thats where all the kids activities when on. They had every 8 foot table covered the way yours was, white on all the tops and they used same blue skirts and every other table had red skirts.  On Sunday nite when it was time to tear down, I was cleaning my kit, and a lady asked me if I could use one of the skirts, I said ok thank you. and I didn't pay attention! When we got ready to leave she brought me a bag with 12 red skirts and 12 blue skirts! But the other day I was at Sams club! They are costly!  I just put the bag up in the rafters of the garage, I think I'll use them this summer for festivals, fairs,  and Ren Faires! What I'm trying to say is......thanks for posting the pic Sherry, I would have forgotten all about those shirts!

Yes, they would be nice to have.  They were provided at that particular event.  I didn't realize they sell them at Sam's Club and have wondered where to get those type of things.  I'll have to check our local Sam's Club out.
