How beautiful! Did you use a reference for it. The hands are even well done and those aren't the easiest body part. Do you paint from the inside or outside of the window. Do you have to layer it in reverse? Haven't worked on windows much, but I think about it around any holiday. But there seem to be at least 3 different artists "prettying up" all the local businesses. What paints do you use? Let us know. I am still and always CURIOUS!

After you draw the outline from the projector, how do you use it once you get to the location? Is it just a reference that you look at while you free hand it on the window? Or do you somehow attach it to the window and trace? I don't think I understand how that part works. I love this idea. In fact, I ordered some books on window painting from my paperbackswap.com site. They're on a shelf. Another thing I may try someday...

ahhh Julie! these pics are great! I have in the past painted my windows at christmas time (come to think about it, I did it on my moms windows when I was a wee kid) I just used poster paint and mixed dish washing soap in it, so it was easier to wash off when removed! I always wanted to know the proper paints to use?

I use acrylic paint, don't know if that is what professionals use. To take it off I go over it with a large damp sponge a few times and then scrape it all off with a stanley blade takes a few minutes I let my kids have a go too this year LOL They had great fun.

Yes! I have even talked to her and that is the same technique that i use!...however, the paint "Dayglo" is extremely expensive...she has been doing this for quite a while...she used to live in Las Vegas and stayed very busy but she told me that she didn't paint too much anymore...that there were alot of people that didn't want that type of painting done on their windows.....i have bout the sel vinyl paint and it comes in 16 oz. squirt bottles....that's some good paint too...she gave me alot of good tips...i buy little tubs with lids and put abot 4 of them in a bigger tub...have each tub with a roller in it in the tub....walk around with the paints that i am using so i dont have to keep going back and forth all the time...the sel vinyl paint can only be removed with alcohol....it's very opaque....good for if you live in a hot, humid, area where it rains.... this past year, at Christmas, i made about $800.00 in about 3 weeks just painting snowmen on windows or whatever....you should give it a try...I'm not at all ashamed to admit that I use a prjector for patterns on those things that i don't know how to draw...most of the time i draw my pics. if you live in an area that's primarily cold..here's a good tip....Paint 'does not' like cold temps!...first of all, go to your local trade store like Walmart or whatever....buy two small heating pads...lay them in the bottom of a plastic tub.....Take the bottles, tubs or whatever you are using that holds your paint, and lay them in the bottom on their side. Turn on the heating pads early in the morning before you leave....Make sure and take and extension cord with you...when you get to your destination, plug in the cord and the paint will be nice and warm and will flow nicely...when you are done, place your little rollers in separate ziploc bags, put the lids on each tub, and store. My paint keeps very well like this and I don't have to wash everything out everytime I paint windows....hope this helps.......... If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask... Mollie, I think your window is awesome lovely details. Did you paint it on the inside or out side ? Have you seen these videos on youtube I watch them with my mouth open I am so in awe. Julie, just love all your window paintings but....................my favorite one is the children's window! HAHAHAHA it made me smile, I could just picture them painting their masterpiece! Ahh this is a picture to cherish! And I'm sure you handled it just as I would have with my girls when they were little "wow what a great job you did! You guys are great artists!" praise them up, that builds their confidence! Ahh the joy of the children growing up, brings tears to my eyes! And if you ask the little kids, when they do something like this or draw a picture on paper, they can tell you what it is and thestory that goes with it! I love kids, just adore them! Great job Mom for letting them be them!

MsMolly thank you for that advice I will bear that in mind for the future Yes Gina that is my favourite too, they spent ages on it and really enjoyed doing it. I am pleased to say they all have developed into little artists.
