First and Second Baby Bump Paintings on my Daughter

My daughter Heather is due any day now with Shelby my granddaughter.  I get so emotional thinking about my baby having a baby...I guess its just hard to believe that after so many years of taking care of her, she will soon have her own tiny one to take care of.  She is in nursing school and is married to the most awesome son-in-law I could ever ask for...he is simply amazing. 

Heather visited me in February of this year and I painted a Sesame Street scene on her 7 month tummy.  I went to visit her a few weeks ago and painted her again but this time she chose a sunset with flowers.  I know those flowers could use a lot of work but after 3.5 hours, she and I were both tired and hungry.  SHe has put photo's of both designs into Shelby's baby book.  I had hoped for ONE more but with my luck, she will go into labor...she said if that happened she would try to hold out long enough so I could paint Shelby's face pearing through her belly button, just for the doc and nurses sake!  My daughter, she has a macabre sense of humor...and I love her for it!

Nicely done. It would be great for the doctor's to peek at something a bit different. Surprise! It's a belly painting.

Yes I seen these pics on the snaz forum, and I fell in love with them! We posted our daughters belly about the same time. My grand daughter was born on March 10th, and she has stolen our hearts! She is four weeks old today! Time goes so fast. I have four daughters myself, ages 19 - 22 -27 - 30, and this is our first grand baby! I love all my daughters, they are my best friends, but theres some thing extra special about the grand babies! My  life changed when Hannah was born. Congrats on being grandma, you will love it, and what amazing memories you made and shared with your daughter with the belly bump paintings. The one I did on my daughter was for my grand daughter and also it was my very first time to paint a belly, so that made it extra special, and I just checked the west coast face painters forum! I won forth place with my belly bump painting! Yee Haa! Life is grand!

They are beautiful, my baby girl is only 11 so I have a good few years to wait before I get any grandchildren LOL. She has a gorgeous bump beautifully proportioned.

LOL...well I really do appreciate the nice compliments...I will be 45 on April 20th and had my daughter when I was 21.  Not to sound brash but people have said this sort of thing to me before and I have no explanation...I never smoked, I take vitamins, I USED to exercise a lot but not much lately.  I do love to eat!!! HA!  I THINK young...maybe thats it!  I have a 5 yr old granddaughter from my son who is 25 and when she comes for a visit we are off and running to the zoo and everyplace in between and I mean everywhere...Ive taken her to Dallas, San Antonio and the Waco Zoos.  Anyway...thanks ladies...you have all made my day if not my year!

PS...Gina should really post her daughters baby bump painting...its really beautiful as you can well imagine!  Ive known Gina for a few months now and she and I get along wonderfully!  She is a very inspiring person!

Thank you my friend! Well here's my daughter Stacy's belly bump painting! This was my first time doing this type of painting, and I was honored to paint it for my first grand baby Hannah! Yee Haa it just won forth place in the West coast face painters body contest! So so happy!

JUST GOR-JUS Regina!!  Heather (my daughter) said she had a talk with Shelby today asking her if she wouldnt mind trying to be born today or tomorrow as she has a big test on Monday and doesnt want to miss school (she's in nursing school) She also let Shelby know that she's still a big Lucky Charms girl, who at 23 yrs old, still likes to pick out all of the marshmallows and that this is something little Shelby will have to learn to live with...Hey I dont know where she gets it from!! LOL

HAHAHAHA!  I have asked my hubby to be my belly bump model too!  But he said "NO"! I told him I would not show his face in my picture!  He said "NO" and I said "WHY NOT PLEASE"  He then confessed! he said he really wouldn't mind if I used his belly, but he would be affraid that I would want to shave it first?   WELL why ........  YES I would like to shave it first!, he said  "NO"

LOL...yeah you gotta shave it other wise it looks...well.....furry!  if you can come up some kind of design that would work...but man, Im not real big on having to paint a hairy forehead let alone a hairy tummy...besides, it will grow back...Im going to see what my man says...he let me paint his entire back, butt, legs and all while he was playing XBox once...was that too much info?
