How many faces do you average per hour when they're requesting from a large variety of your full faces? How about when they're your quick designs and you limit the choices to speed things up... do you know how many you can work through in an hour?

ha... I have no idea how many i can do in an hour...the other day when i was doing that open house, the kids knew i was there and it was free...they kept coming back and wanting other things...i didn't mind as there weren't many kids there anyway,,,,besides it gave me alot of practice that i really needed..k kids are pretty flexible and even when they say..."I want that one"(from the poster pics) I usually tell them..."well, I will try my best, but since I'm crazy, MsMollie can't make it look the same twice"...they just look at me and smile really big and usually laugh!....I say, "Do you really care"? Most of the time, they say 'no'....so that gets me off the hook when things don't work out like i expected..... i know i can do the picture, i just get side tracked! : That is unless it's specifically and animal or something like that...then i do it 'exactly' like the pic...."I guess i better start timing myself...next weekend, i have a really big festival to do and we will see how it turns out...i sure hope it's good!....it will be the biggest one yet!....

I wouldn't even want to do it exactly like my pictures. (I've gotten better since the time I took many of them.) Besides, that gets boring.
I tell them that I don't even try to make it exactly the same. Because I yam an Arteeest!

Oh, and 'how many faces per hour'? Well, you see how I like to answer that one. Whenever possible, I try to get sidetracked and let it slide.
But, all kidding aside, I usually say 10 per hour - because I'm confident that I can Make it happen if necessary.

My husband says I'm getting faster. I haven't timed it in a while. I probably am, if it's faces I've done repeatedly and can whip out... but if they ask for things I haven't tried yet or often, then I know I'm still safe, saying "10 per hour".
One of the girls that has been working with me for a year is getting faster. She sent me her faces from a 2 hour event she did over the weekend and she sent 32 faces. They weren't all full faces. Some full and some cheek art of her tried and true faces and it looks like she does about 16 faces an hour, including taking the time to take a picture of each!

what i am beginning to realize is that it doesn't have to be real detailed to be pretty...i have seen some awesome faces, done very simply that are quick to do.....splash of paint here, there and a flick of the brush and a little background and bling and you got it going on!...i saw a face on the net that i wanted to try..you have probably seen it as well or might even know who did it...not sure but it's the one with the full face scenery of the beach...blue colors at the bottom and then the sunrise above the nose....then in black you do a palm tree, island, and birds...it turned out awesome...i will post the pics..but believe it or not...that was the fastest full face i have ever done....

I'll have to look for some more. I just did about three new island scenes, but I cleared my pics of my camera before going to Calif, and I don't remember where I placed them! Gesh! I must have a short memory!

I normally do 12-20 kids per hour depending on what they get.
people who want like 100 kids in a hour, I tell them kids will only get to choose from 4 stenciled designs... nothing else. No takers yet... hahaha

Cindy from Curlies face art does a gorgeous Sunset half face, she used to have a you tube vid but it seems to have been removed here is a picture on her website. It is 11 rows down and 2 across. The one in the video was even nicer with sun more prominant and blue at the bottom between the sun and trees. http://www.curliesfaceart.com/FaceGallery.htmlGina your's is lovely too

I know you were directing that to Vi, but it got me thinking about the one I use. I haven't worked a lot with stencils, but I use the big tire track stencil. I don't know about you guys, but I have problems keeping it in place across the whole face. I find that I have to be careful not to let it slide about or the design comes out wonky.
I still like to have it as another option for boys.

I have several stencils, from Snazaroo, I have the fairie stencil, the tire track stencil, brick wall stencil, stars, snow flakes, and the scales. I use the scales and the brick wall all the time. I do alote of painting at two different race car tracks, I thought the tire track one would be a big hit! But last year, I never had one request! I do have a brand new red tire track stencil from Snazaroo, red on both sides. Gary Cole sent me one for a trial, to see if I liked it! I did try it on myself, and it works very well! It doesn't slide haedly at all! But like any other stencil, there is a trick to using them! Really dry paint on your sponge and start at the top, walk your fingers down the stencil, and I just let it fall over the top of my hand. Here is a picture of the tire track, but I used the black stencil for this one.

If I am being paid per face I can probably fit in 40 an hour, If I am asked about a per hour home party I usually tell them 15-20. I tell them that the less kids they have the more detail everyone will get, if they have more kids, everyone gets quick stuff. Most parties around here are under 15 kids. I usually have time to paint half the adults at those kinds of gigs.
