greetings from austin
« on: April 22, 2010, 12:08:08 AM »

hello, i just did an earth day event. a local farmers market that i have been going to for a year now. I had a woman tell me there is lead in craft acrylic paint. I looked it up and found nothing like that. However, i would like to know what is comperable as far as intensity of color and quick drying. It's seemed to work well for me so far without any complaints! I do want to make sure the kids are safe. I don't use it near the eyes, however i would like to find some that would be ok. thank you!

Hi Camille,

Welcome to the forum!  Grin  I would steer clear of the acrylics, I think they have carcinogenic ingredients in them.  Read a big discussion about it here:  http://www.snazaroo.us/faqacrylics.htm

I think Wolfe & Diamond FX are really vibrant professional face paints.  If you'd like to try out the Diamond FX line, email me your address and I'll mail you out a 6 color essential palette as a courtesy.  My email is sherrys.funfaces@gmail.com

They'll be different than the acrylics you're used to, but you can practice a bit.  They're water activated, so you'd just dip your brush in some water and then pick up the face paint or spritz the face paint cake first and then run your brush across it to pick up the paint.
