Face painting this weekend
« on: May 17, 2010, 08:17:17 PM »

You know those events that are kind of slow and you're the only entertainment for the kids lingering around?  I had one of those this weekend.  One lady came by with 4 kids and there were 2 other kids whose Mom was working there.  Since it was free to them, these same 6 kids kept cycling through my line.  This sort of drives me crazy, but as long as it was fun for them!

One kid gave me a chuckle the last time he sat down in my chair with all the crazy stuff on him.  I had to take a pic.  Here he is.   Grin

He's got the Spidey Eye, snake on the face, snake on the arm, Ben 10 watch, plus fangs... so he got in my line at least 5 times.  Six, if you count the time he sat down and wasn't sure.   Grin

My son as a monkey boy.   Cheesy  I saw this design someone posted online and decided to try it out on him tonight.

Here's another from this weekend's events.  She picked turquoise for her Spider girl... I love that color!

hahahaha1 we will name him boy of many colors! Yup Sherry drives me nuts too! If the word FREE was not there, you would have seen them once!  It eats at me too, so I say, one design per customer is free! That stops them most of the time! But I love the spidey girl color choice, really nice. I too did a color spidey this week end that was totally new!  GOLD Spidey!  Would not have been my choice, but it was for a 12 year old boy! I too only did half faces. I stoped them as if they were masks! And I am in LOVE with the monkey! And your son too!  He is a great sport and model. I need him fora while, I get tired of painting the boy designs on myself!  Can I have him, can I? Please!

Believe me, I have to throw in a little bribe to get his uncomplaining cooperation.  I promised him a bird field guide book today.  He's been obsessed lately with getting a bird book and going out and spotting and taking pictures of birds.   Huh?

The reason I'm confused is because I always thought that sounded like a boring activity and couldn't figure out why anyone would.  Now my own son wants to and I know we all have our own opinions and tastes in things, so I'm going to do my best.  It makes me happy to see his eyes light up when he starts discussing our plans with the bird thing... he's so excited.   Smiley

I too think birds are most beautiful, and  there is so so many types! My youngest Krista now 19, came home when she was 12 and said "I want to play tennis" I said WHAT thats a stupid game, and boring! No one in our family nor her dads ever played that game! Well I bought her a racket and a sleeve of balls! When she graduated in 2009, she had been on the school tennis team for four years, captain for three of those years, and their number one singles player in her jr and senior year!  I never missed a game!  I loved watching her and in the last two years of her playing I became Tennis MOM!  I was in charge of the healthy snacks and organizing the meets for the girls! I loved it, and I do go with her now and hit balls, but thats about what we do, she hits and I chase them, but I wouldn't trade it at all!  So any hobby or any thing the young gets interested in, is wonderful! Way to go, have him start a journal on his findings!
