Have you seen any professional face painters out and about? I started by face painting my oldest son for Halloween. I really enjoyed it, but didn't think much of it, once he outgrew that. Then a year and a half ago, it popped into my head that maybe I could do face painting for pay.
I searched around online to see what other face painters were doing. Found out where to buy face paints... the GOOD stuff.

You don't want to use the stuff they sell at Wal-mart, it's thick and heavy on the face. Professional brands like Diamond FX, Snazaroo, Wolfe, Paradise, etc are vibrant make-ups, made especially for use on the skin.
Get your supplies together, Find some willing victims, er models and then start practising.

Once you feel you have some good designs together and can do them fairly quickly. I suggest 5 minutes or less, then you can get out there and get your feet wet.
They have a lot of good face painting tutorials on Youtube that helps teach techniques and whatnot.
I'm so glad you joined. Welcome to our board!
