Carrying case
« on: July 02, 2010, 08:11:23 AM »

I really need to get organized and I would love to keep my paints in a case so I can leave the lids off. I haven't had much luck finding one. Jestpaints has one but only for 12 paints. Grin

I've been trying to downsize.  I normally carry a big rolling suitcase and I thought I needed something lighter and more attractive.

I tried the suggestion I've heard around of velcroing my face paint containers to a case, but I think the velcro gets dirty looking and doesn't clean up well.  I decided to try putting my paints into a craft container I've seen others use.  I don't like that the receptacles aren't very wide, but we'll see how it goes this weekend when I'll have a chance to try it out.

It's a beach theme event, so I picked up a cute looking picnic basket at Target to put it and all my supplies in.  Here's a pic.

Looks nice. The basket is adorable and it is so colorful it matches your paints.

I did like Sherry and bought one of those plastic containers too.  I love it so much better than the Mehron black case I used to have.  Everyone called it my laptop.

I'm curious about your design sheet.  Is that design sheet a guide for full faces and cheek art?

I use two cases from Anna (jestpaints)  the foam is for the containers like paradise, smaller in size than diamond, but I just cut the circles out larger for my diamond to fit. I never put the lids on.  I made the table top to bolt onto my toolbox, the two black paint cases fit into the table top, the table top flips in hlf and is secured by a lock, just like a suitcase!  I love it and no more lids, I just flip it open and open the black case, slide the  other black case to the next side and ready to go, so fast.  I have to have every thing in it's place and clean, or it would drive me nuts!  Before I close the case down, I take a wet sponge and wipe all my paints down, and wipe all the edges down, it only take me a few minutes, and I am all clean for the next gig!

@Sherry- We have designs in the front of our booth that we can't see so I took a picture of the board and made copies of it, so if someone walks up and wants a design that's in the front then they can sit and point out which one they want on the paper without us having to go back to the front to see it.  It also helps when you forget what it looks like or how much it is. It's mainly masks, and one-eye designs and a few cheek art.

I have a wolfe case, but I ditched the insides and put in a pallete from micheals craft store in there and made all my cakes fit in there by splitting the colors.

I show the old insides it in the youtube, here is a pic from it. with a display of what it looks like now.
