Glitter poofers
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:52:21 AM »

I have been applying my snazaroo glitters with my fingers. These poofer bottles, can you purchase them empty or do have have to buy them already filled? Curious minds need to know. If I can extend the life span of my glitter and apply it more evenly, I would love that. Let me know! Huh? Huh?

I tried the poofer bottles and didn't like the results.  You can't control where the stuff goes... and it goes all over the place!  I wound up taking the glitter out of the poofer bottle and put it back in a container where I could use my finger again.  I just took a class with Marcella Murade this past week... and she just touched her finger to the baby wipe she was using and put the glitter where she wanted it.  She also showed us how to dampen a brush and "paint" the glitter where you want it.  Either would be preferable to blasting the glitter all over at least in my opinion.  javascript:void(0);

I really like the idea of touching the baby wipe and then applying the glitter. The poofer does kinda go where you DON'T want it so I look forward to using the techniques you mentioned.

I keep both a poofer of the fairy dust type glitter and a jar of it out on my table. I use the poofer when I just want to whole design and face to sparkle, and I use the jar when I want to apply it to specific areas.

I prefer the poofers when doing glitter tatoos because it is easier and faster to get the glitter on, at least for me.

i just use a big fat blush brush...i dumped all my glitter into one of those small round makeup containers and just dip the brush in it....that way it's on the ends of the bristles and i just touch the face where i want it and no problem-o...i also use one of those round stamp sponges...you can get them in various sizes..i think vi does this too...they work really well and leave the glitter right where you want it...i don't like the poofer bottles as they always spray globs out where i don't want it to go...

I am a poofer!  I love the poof bottles. I never have any problem with glitter going every where. I don't poff the bottle tho, I turn it upside down and shake it! Works great for me.

yep - I do both - Poofer and Dabber....

I prefer the poofer but it doesn't always stick once my paint has dried, this is when that dabber comes in handy.
I just dont like the HUGE amount of glitter the dabber applies.... I like the sweet dusting of glitter a poofer provides.

I love my poofers! When my face paints have dried already by the time is ready for glitter, glitter will not stick to any design!  This is what I do!  And the kids love it! Mostly if it is hot!  I take my spritz water bottle and tell them that I am going to mist a light coat of water accross there design so the gl;itter can stick to the design, they close there eyes I mist and then poof glitter, and they are done just that fast, BUT  several times when I have gone to spray the mist of water, I have had my bottle back wards, so when I pushed the top the water would spray at MY FACE!  It makes the kids laugh and I laugh, everyone around laughs, BUT what they don't know is IT FEELS GOOD!  And the kids love the burst of cold water to there hot face!
