Denver Colorado
« on: August 15, 2010, 11:09:23 AM »

I just returned home from a week long business trip to Denver, Colorado. We decided to drive from NE Iowa so it was about 12 hours in a mini van. Thank goodness the air conditioning was working. While in Denver, I heard lots of complaining about the 95 degree weather. I'm here to tell you 95 degrees in Denver is nothing compared to 95 in NE Iowa. I think we could have been in 110 degrees in Denver and still been in jeans and a sweatshirt. Big difference with no humidy. The sky was beautiful and we could not have asked for better weather. Unfortunately while we were away, Iowa got 6 more inches of rain and flooded even more areas. Our area wasn't affected, thank goodness.

The trip was nice but I am sooooooo happy to be home. So today I'm catching up on paperwork, laundry, and as you can tell sneaking in a little fun along the way.  Smiley

You ain't kidding... bad english I know, but so the saying goes.

I had to work in high humidity this weekend and it was miserable.  It's only because I sweat so much when it's humid.  When I arrived at my second event, my face paint design immediately began to run off and all I could think, was I can't wait for this party to be over.

I have a ppf this weekend... here's hoping the weather cooperates.  It's by the beach, so that normally cools things down a bit.

Powders are really saving the day the last few weeks...

My powders weren't even helping on Saturday.  They were turning to instant liquid on some faces, but the line work was the killer.  I really want to try out these Magicakes now, if only for the linework option.

While at my last weekend of ren faire, the booth across from me sold clothes. During our conversation, he also told me he sold make up, mostly Ben Nye make up. So on Sunday he brought me a gift! Three pots of Ben Nye Magic cakes, yellow pink and blue. I haven't used them as of yet,  but I am going to play around with them at home this week I think on my self, and I will give a report to our forum. I did rub my fingers across the yellow and apply the color on top of my hand and I loved the way that looked! Almost like you can use them dry!
