Just got home from weekend number three of mid michigan ren faire, it was cold and I got pretty sick this morning! I have had a cold every weekend up north, must be the cold air and nightness! Uggggg bed again all day tomorrow! One more week of ren faire. That makes 15 weekends since May. It has been a great experience. Booked for all of them next year. Today was a first for me!  I painted a..........................are you ready for this......................SNAKE!  OMG! I was painting a mans bald head, a full tiger on his bald head! And it turned out amazing! Then his wife came in my booth holding a snake! Four foot long and HUGH around! I yelled OH crap! The man told me it was his snake and it's name was Pete! Than he asked me if I could paint Pete to look like his tiger! Gheesh " ahhhhhhhhhhhh can you hold him still? He did, and I painted a tiger on Petes back, right in the middle of him! And I painted so fast, cuz my heart was sreaming! Got all done and the owner gave me $80! $40 for his design and $40 for Pete's! Ahhhhh put the menory away in my book! And I think I am retiring from snake painting!  One more weekend of ren faire, than a break!

I think we will all let you be the only snake painter in this chat.
How did the paint go on? Was it very different from our skin? Undecided

I WAS so AFFRAID! I just kind of used the dotting method! You know, no heavy pushing of the paint brush! hahahaha didn't want to make the snake mad!  No I didn't hold it! There was a guy on each side of me hold the snake, the laid it down on my table top so the middle of the snake was where I painted! And then I made one guy hold the head of the snake so he couldn't get me! Ahhhh probly will never paint another snake again! And yes the paint went on just fine I think!

I have been really pretty busy this late Summer and Fall.  I'm doing football games, school fund raisers (we charge our normal pay per face rate and then give a %age back to the school... i.e. 20% and we put up a sign to that effect... we make money... the school makes money... the kids are thrilled with their faces... and everyone is happy), a late season small Ren. Faire (probably won't do that again though) and now that we are getting into the Christmas shopping season (AARRGGG!) we have been doing some of the huge arts & crafts fairs in the area... VERY profitable!  Also our birthday business is doing well too.   We still want to add a couple more restaurants to our schedule so I'm working on that too.
