Forgot my brushes
« on: October 28, 2010, 09:07:24 AM »

It happened.  I had a face painting kids night job on the other side of town Tuesday night.  I get there and NO brushes!  Yikes.  There seemed to be no Walmart, craft store, nothing around that I thought would have brushes, so I tried the Walgreens.  Luckily they had a pack of brushes and about half were useful.  Better than nothing.  My lesson for the day... I will now be stashing some brushes and sponges in my glove compartment just in case!

I don't know what I would have done if Walgreens didn't have any brushes.   Shocked

I don't know if I ever forgot my brushes, but I am sure I forgot sponges.
I used baby wipes to apply the large areas of paint. Not the greatest, but
you do what you gotta do and be creative!

I always have a feeling that I have forgotten some thing!  I notice that once I get into the car to go to the gig, my mind goes like crazy thinking! I have had to turn around twice now and go back home because I have forgotten my tub of sponges! As far as brushes go, I have SO SO many of them,  I have an over flo that is always in my toolbox drawer, they have gotten old and has lost the sharp point, but I guess I could make them work!  Normally once I get home from a gig, I completely clean my kit and organize my rolling toolbox!  I wash all the sponges and lay them out on the kitchen counter top, also thats what I do with my brushes.  And I forget the next day to put them back in the toolbox! I would forget my head if it wasn't hooked to my shoulders! hahahaha!  Glad the gig turned out ok for you!  Well we could finger paint like my Hannah did on her pumpkin!  I'm sure our designs would look pretty decent!

I had my brushes laid out and everything too... I don't know how I forgot them.  When I returned home, there they sat on the counter.   Tongue  I guess I was in a mad rush that day.

If I'd forgotten my sponges, I think I could have worked with big brushes too, but I couldn't wrap my brain around anything creative to take the place of brushes.  I had smoothies, but that wouldn't work for any detail.  I thought it would look like a toddler had painted it and I didn't have any q-tips.  I don't think that would have been much use either.

My husband says that I need a checklist to use every time I am out the door.
Makes sense; have I done it yet...no. Procrastination is one of my largest flaws! Lips Sealed
