Same design for 3 hours?

I worked a fall festival in a small town yesterday and for some reason everyone wanted the tiger.  The boys wanted the traditional orange tiger and the girls wanted the rainbow tiger.  By the last hour, I was getting into a real irritable, peeved mood.  Feeling irrationally annoyed with the kiddos.  And it was an event where they had my entire book of designs to choose from... no limiting the choices at this festival.  I'm thinking to myself, "are you kidding me?  You can't possibly want a tiger.  Everyone has the tiger... you can't be a bit more imaginative?  Step out of the box a little?  Really there's a lot of different designs I can do!"

After the event, I had to analyze it, so I went back over all the designs I did that weren't tigers.  1 puppy, 3 dragons, a ladybug, 1 cookie monster, 1 Spiderman, 1 Glamour Eye, 1 blue eye swirl, 1 colorful eye swirl, an Ironman, and a Jaguar (which doesn't count because it felt basically like another tiger).  So averaging 15 faces an hour, I estimate I did 34 tigers.  It still blows me away that they all wanted the same design.  I've had popular favorite designs at events, but never to this extent.  Anyway, just had to vent a little.  It's the un-fun part of face painting.

That can be pretty mundane. On the bright side, I bet your speed increased with each face?

Ha! Sherry, I had a party w/ 23 kittens, 1 tiger and a spidey guy. Let me tell you... we had striped kitties, spotted kitties, fluffy kitties, kitties with flowers, a few kitty/butterfly morphs, etc. I thought I'd go crazy

Wouldn't it be great if someone hired you to do the cast of "CATS"
every day (and twice on weekend days) for months at a time?
I could be bored with that ANY DAY! or am I being catty?

Yeah, I don't know if I'd wish for that, but maybe I would if the pay were great.     Aren't the cats all different?  I could work with that.  I should have changed it up a bit like Linda.  I always feel like they want it exactly the same.  The kids monitor what you're doing and run back and look at the picture or each other to make sure you did it just right.
