My first "Baby Bump"
« on: November 11, 2010, 06:52:35 AM »

Okay, I did my first bump painting!  Yeah!  It turned out pretty well.  I combined a couple of designs I found online....and my own idea of "hiding" the baby's name (LUNA) in the tree roots.  She wanted a fairy or mystical theme.  With the name, them and given that i'm still a "newbie in training" I thought it came out pretty well and the design I chose was appropriate.  Took about 45 minutes.  How long should/do most belly paintings take?

It looks beautiful Cha Cha!  I haven't painted a baby bump yet, so I don't know how long it would take, but with that large canvas, I'd imagine it'd take a while.  Plus, if it's not a design you do regulary, then those always take longer.

A job well done! Gorgeous! Haven't done a belly yet, but can't wait.
You really carried the mystical aspect into your work. Grin

Thanks Wina  Grin  I have several more freebie gift certificates out.  I had to make them up since I had approached a couple of women who I'm sure thought I was crazy when I asked to paint their tummy.  I would like to have a couple more examples on my site....Maybe I just need to find a practice tummy...lol

I love that one! I wish my script was that neat ;o) The timeframe really helps.  I am really marketing to be able to do a lot of them.  I figure with the parties mostly being on the weekends, this would be a great mid-week "filler".  I need to research the rooms further to see if most painters charge their regular hourly fee or a "flat rate".  I'm guessing the hourly rate (with only a 30 minunte minimum) would be more appropriate since each design can vary.
