I thought it would be a fun post to answer some questions and learn a little bit more about each other.
What was the last item you purchased?
Is there a child who looks up to you?
What's the funniest gift you've received?
What band or singer would you camp out all night to get tickets to see?
What's the strangest food you've ever ate?
What would be your dream venue?
What's the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Have you ever met a famous person?
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Here's mine:
What was the last item you purchased? a birthday present.
Is there a child who looks up to you? my son and daughter who are 4 and 6.
What's the funniest gift you've received? (I'm not sure about funny, but awkward for me) underwear from my mom at a large, extended family Christmas party.
What band or singer would you camp out all night to get tickets to see? Pink
What's the strangest food you've ever ate? conch
What would be your dream venue? Decisions, decisions... I can't really pin it down, but it would certainly be busy, climate controlled and at my hourly rate. :
What's the first thing you do when you get up in the morning? Fix a cup of coffee and fire up my computer.
Have you ever met a famous person? I've never met a famous person, only been in close proximity.
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be? Colorado

Yes I did! And I was also in his dressing room! My company that I worked for for 30 years made guitar strings, second lasrgest makers in the WORLD, first being deadario in New York. The grand ole opry in nashville tenn is one of ghs corp's largest investors. So when I would go to grand ole opry I had vip passess. George strait was there singing and we could wonder threw the dressing rooms. But I had meant him before at work. We would have several misic groups come threw and tour our plant. In 30 years I had meant tons of singers, from country to hard heavy metal! The group KISS had been at my work several times in full dress. Alan Jackson, I have his guitar signed, he came to work and gave out 6 guitars that he signed after the concert here in our town, he gave all workers back stage passes. Joe Nickels, I have been on his tour bus! I made guitar strings for 15 years, and then I made external and internal mics for guitars, I was the only one who made them, kind of a one man show! So I had lots of groups come to ask questions or watch me make them, or have me explain how to use them. Retired in Oct of 2007. So a little more about my past!

and I have to note that it wasn't so scarey to answer these questions. Even though I'd be real interested to know things like Your Political Views, Your Religious Beliefs, Your Cleanliness Habits, Your Sign (lol), and Your Sexual Path, I think it's best that we don't publish them on the World Wide Web.
This is a nice place. A nice and easy place where people are just polite and caring. Not judging each other. I wish we didn't judge each other based on the Intense List, but it's hard to have the humility I think we should have.

Awesome Alison! Yep, I think things might get heated if we bring up the political or religious beliefs questions, but it would be interesting.

Awesome Alison! Yep, I think things might get heated if we bring up the political or religious beliefs questions, but it would be interesting. Yes - interesting for sure. I like people who tell me their intimate stories, but I've been turned off by people who rant about their political views in off-topic-type things like this. Soooo - facepaintchat members - anybody who wants to tell me their personal paths, problems, dreams..... No matter what you say, I'm all 'ears'. And I don't remember disliking Anybody with Any experiences who opened up. I've actually admired people who can do that. And live with it. So open. So refreshing. But as far as political views and controlling agendas, well - be forewarned. I might not like you, but I would still be real impressed with your strength. With not being afraid to speak up. Like, maybe you wouldn't shouldn't even care about whether or not I like you. I'm just One person. I'd like to get to know you - all of the people that I write with here. And in asking about that, I think I just opened up and ended up tellling you a lot of Me. Hi Y'all. I hope you like me :-)

Oh yes - I think I remember about that. I had been amazed when I realized that a while ago.
You might be surprised if you're dreaming of the Coney Island in NY though. I have some Great memories of the place, yet I'm not so thrilled with it any more. Best Whishes to You for Enjoying your Dreams. Maybe you could write out your fantasy job in Coney Island for us?
It was a Super Special Happy place for me as a Very young child - the rides, the cotton candy, Nathans hotdogs and fries - secure with my parents. Then, a couple of fun wild dates as a teenager - the rides, dancin' in the streets...... But now, it was hard to get there for gigs I've had practically right across the street from Nathans. Police having to drive by constantly for safety. And Nathans itself is now indoors - feels sort of like a subway station or something (and I can't down a hotdog anymore. and I shouldn't gobble those fries.)
Awwww, maybe it would look brighter to me if I was a kid who found us interactive fun face-painters at Coney Island. Still, as an adult, I can do that at any Amusement Park if I want. and I prefer prepaid Parties to working Retail.

So do I. I like going out to a job and know that I am being paid....regardless. There were two occasions that I spent almost 6 hrs at an event and only made about 150.00 and I couldnt help but say to my self 'sheesh, i make this in less than 2 hrs for a party.

It's not just the less money that's made by Retail ~ although that's a big part of it. But you do learn a lot about people and about selling by doing that. But selling, well, it's not what I usually do. I prefer to just give people what they already want to buy, what they ask me for. Not what I have to manipulate out of them.
So, it's not just about the money. It's also the way I feel about myself after spending hours Selling and selling and proving my self to each individual person who comes by. At a Party, they already see what I'm doing, they're not concerned with the money money money between each Creation..... Once I get it started at a Party, we're On. I'm appreciated. I'm treated like a wanted desireable professional. So I don't go home feeling like I've been convincing people to buy what they don't really need or want. I go home from a Party feeling appreciated and
well
important. yes.
