Hiya from Houston, TX!
« on: December 23, 2010, 12:45:20 AM »

I'm brand new to face painting. So I will be doing a lot of reading here and just absorbing the wisdom.

I have a background in art. Went to an art college...used to decorate cakes (then had a baby that grew into a toddler that liked to poke the cakes). I do painting on the side now such as craft painting (name plates, growth charts and the like). Then a couple of weekends ago I helped out with stage makeup at a big Christmas play and remembered how much fun makeup can be. That, for me, transferred into face painting since normal makeup can be so boring.  Wink

I'll eventually want to get into this professionally but I have a bit of practice to do first. Now if I could only find someone to practice on other than myself. My husband says no way and my daughter is almost three and isn't that good at sitting still (go figure).  Grin

Welcome!

Ask the kids in your family or neighborhood. You will get many willing volunteers.
Since my sons aren't always so thrilled to be painted, I bought myself a mannequin
head that works great. Working on your own face takes more effort!

Start practicing on your face, arms, thighs and legs!
