Balloon Twisting Practice
« on: January 17, 2011, 12:55:08 PM »

O.k. I finally got motivated and have started learning some new balloons.  I met a new local balloon twister and his balloons are awesome, so I knew I really needed to get busy and have more to offer.  Learning new balloons seems so time consuming to me, but I learned a few new swords, a monkey and 2 new butterflies.

The monkey I learned from the happycabbie on Youtube.

We went out to breakfast at IHOP yesterday and there was a balloon twister there.  I decided to watch and see what designs he twisted.  He did a flower and I thought, O.k. I can do that.  Then he did a motorcyle and I thought, O.k. I need to LEARN that.  It looked good.

Julie!  Was thinking about you the other day.  Haven't seen you on the board for a bit, so I was wondering what you've been up to.   Grin

Cute monkey!
Do you know how to do the dragon breathing fire or Lightning mcQueen? Hannah's good at the dragon & I learned Lightning a while back(he's a real hit with the boys). We should get together & I'll show him to you.

How are you doing with the Balloons, Sherry?
Do you remember how to do the ones you posted last January?

I pick up some great Balloon here and there.  But my Balloon gigs are few with long times in between, so I usually don't remember them.  If there's time, a quick learn-a-new-balloon just before a gig helps.

If I felt more confident with my Balloons, I'd push them more.  I'd be doing them more.  And then I'd be more proficient.  Where does the time go?

BTW - great choices here.  Monkeys, Lightning McQueen, Flying Dragon.... And that Twisted Sword!  Nice.  It doesn't flop, does it?

My balloon gigs don't come around as often for me either.  I was stumped this past Friday when someone requested my monkey.   Shocked  Woops!  I went home and went over it again and I am now prepared!

I have an event coming up next weekend that I plan to come up with a few new girlie balloons.  I will let you know my progress.

Ha!  Not yet, I've not had much time to fit it in, but I need to before next Saturday.  I'm going to get the contest ready to be voted on today.  Woo hoo!

That's what happens to me too.
I don't find time to practice for so long that I had even stopped trying.  But wanting to get back in to it, I posted about that here and I did do a Little this week.
There's something good about being on this board.

Hi!  I just realized that I posted the Practice Balloons that I wrote about here
in a different section of the Forum.  The one called "Everything Else"  "Tattoos" "Practice".
I don't know how that happened, but it did make sense to go there :-)

I hope you'll check it out.
