Black
« on: February 23, 2011, 10:37:57 PM »

I am new and learning.  Smiley
I have read many of the preferences, but would like some feedback specifically on black paint.  I started with snazaroo, and have some wolfe now, and the black is great for detail, but terrible for taking off my kids.  Does anyone prefer any of the others for black that is easier to get off, less staining?  Thanks for any feedback.

Hi,
I always carry 3 blacks. For bases on children I always use snazaroo, for bases for adults I use snaz or paradise. I do details on small children in snaz and sometimes paradise if it is a non-smearing and easy to wipe off part of the face. I use paradise for details and on adults I'll use dfx for the finer crisp lines. Sometimes I'll use a tiny bit of dfx on older children but only over another colour I know will help it wipe off easier.
They all have their strengths and weaknesses and it is a matter of practicing to use them to their best ability. I wouldn't give up any of them.

P.S.
My space face avatar is all snaz except the gold on the lips and eyelids and even with all that black it was easy to remove.

I have 2 blacks I use. paradise for bases & either wolfe, dfx or tag for the line work. Paradise removes easily & I like the boldness of color. Snaz looks very flat to me & seems to fade after times. It also chips off & is horrible for prenatal/body painting.

I think your problem with your black is how you are removing it.

Try taking either baby shampoo, or Ponds, and letting sit on the painted skin for 30 seconds.  Rub GENTLY with your hands only.  Throw them in the showers, and off it ALL comes.
